The Queens Hotel in Silloth is the perfect destination whether you are visiting for golf, cycling, work, looking for a romantic getaway or wanting to explore the north lakes. We are situated opposite the village green with stunning views of the sea front and Scottish hills beyond. Conveniently located within easy walking distance of town amenities and Silloth on Solway Championship Golf Club.

The Queens is excellently situated within easy walking distance (5 mins) of nearby bars, restaurants and takeaways.  There are too many to mention but we love to enjoy Lucy’s tasty tapas at The Bank of Silloth, over the top milkshakes at The Fairy dust emporium  and fish and chips or kebabs on the sea front when we can. When we can’t, Nina is always ready to deliver to us from Roya’s takeaway.

Golf

Golf:

Silloth on Solway Golf club  The number 1 golf course in Great Britain and Ireland for under £100.  Is a long drive an 8 iron and a pitch away. It is a very popular stop for those traveling to and from Scotland as well as golf societies choosing Silloth as their main  destination course.  In recent years they have hosted several major competitions including the Caris trophy.  Club catering is also mouthwateringly excellent and affordable.

For those of you looking for an alternative round during your stay Southerness golf club and Seascale golf club are also ranked and within commutable distance.   

Walk for Miles

Walk for Miles:

We host many walkers at the Queens Hotel Bed and Breakfast.  Some walk the miles of uninterrupted coast line to get here, some simply enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade to soak up the sea air and glorious sunsets.

Grune Point and the West beach are popular with those looking to get outdoors but stay local. Both are fairly flat.

Silloth’s west beach stretches out for miles and is popular with local and out of town walkers and holidaymakers alike.  Whether you are looking to splash around in summer time, sunbathe or jump off the endless dunes you are guaranteed space.

It is 15 minutes slow walking or 3 minutes by car from the Queens.

Lake District

Lake District:

Silloth is a half an hour away from the north edge of the Lake District. Although the possibilities are endless when it comes to the lakes.  You could walk all around Buttermere and be back to enjoy happy hour by lunch time or take a full day and climb up Skiddaw one of the more challenging Wainwrights.

The Promanade & Silloth Green

The Promanade & Silloth Green:

Silloth Green plays host to a number of events every year.  Green day, Carnival,  Pride and the annual Vintage Steam gathering to name only a few.   The Queens is just across the road.

Cycle for miles:

Silloth is a popular stop on the Hadrian’s cycle way and we host many groups of cyclists here at The Queens. Whether you are riding in a peloton as part of a guided tour or going it solo we can make your stay comfortable.
